After purchasing live gaming specialist Authentic Gaming from LeoVegas for €15m, Genting outlined that the sector forms “a key part” of its digital strategy moving forward.
Striving to harness the power of a global land-based portfolio to develop “truly unique experiences” in the firm’s ‘live from’ offering, Jeremy Taylor, managing director of Genting Online, is to participate in a live casino discussion at next year’s CasinoBeats Malta conference.
Welcoming up to 1,500 delegates to the Intercontinental Malta on March 24-26, Taylor is to debate the blurring of lines between product offerings, emerging technologies and striking the right balance between revenue and championing responsible gaming under a heading of ‘Live Casino: At a Crossroads?’
“I wouldn’t say that live casino is necessarily at a crossroads – it has been growing well for the past three to five years and is now just starting to be given an injection of real innovation to propel it forward even faster,” Taylor says.
“For example, take our live streaming proposition from our prestigious club venues, or the high energy entertainment concepts from studio such as Evolution Gaming’s lightening roulette or Authentic Gaming’s blaze roulette.
“I anticipate there being plenty more exciting and innovative developments to come both in studio and in club venues. Let’s not forget that some markets are also more advanced here than others, for example live roulette is the only live casino product available in Spain right now. So the opportunities for growth are still significant.”
One key aspect of the discussion, as previously mentioned, is the impact emerging technology could potentially have upon the global live casino industry, with Taylor predicting big things.
“It’s a really exciting time for the sector and I would say that parts of the industry are absolutely embracing technological advancements which in turn are driving improvements in the customer experience, both in terms of choice and player engagement and enjoyment.”
Adding: “At Genting Online Casino Malaysia we have been rapidly expanding the number of games we have available – for example we’ve recently launched roulette live from Crockfords and baccarat live From Chinatown, with more games and venues coming soon. This is only possible because we are utilising the most up to date technological advancements available to us.
“Of course we have also just made a significant investment in this area through the acquisition of Authentic Gaming – a really exciting, young business purely focused on developing and harnessing cutting edge technologies in the gaming space.
“Our intention with Authentic is to support their continued growth and to absolutely ensure they continue to focus on innovating in the sector. So to answer your question, I would say there are some clear examples of where operators are fully embracing technology in the live casino space and Genting is undoubtedly one of them.”
Speaking to CasinoBeats last month in the first of a two part series immediately following Genting’s Authentic acquisition, “another piece of the puzzle” being secured was lauded by Taylor as Genting bids to ensure customers have the greatest choice and the greatest playing experience wherever and however they play.
Addressing the firm’s future within the space it was explained: “Live casino is growing at a fast pace, and there are no signs of that slowing down as we head into the new year. Operators in the market are seeking to simultaneously improve their experiences and expand their offering to try and make the most of the opportunity that exists in this space.
“Genting has the chance to be at the very forefront of that – in fact my view is that we are uniquely placed to take advantage of the opportunities available here – and we have some exciting plans in the pipeline.
“Our long term vision is that our online players will have the opportunity to play at any of our casinos internationally, in an increasingly engaging environment, from the comfort of their own surroundings, and we will continue taking steps towards that long term goal in to next year.
“Ultimately it is about continuing to improve customer choice and player experience and that is what we are focused on. Imagine playing on your mobile from your sofa at a table in New York one day and then Las Vegas the next, who knows perhaps next thing you are taken there for real!”
Bringing the conversation full circle and back to the Intercontinental Malta in a little over three months, Taylor concluded by addressing a natural build from the 2019 edition: “Last year’s inaugural event was a great success and looking ahead to 2020’s conference, there is a really good blend of speakers confirmed. I will enjoy getting the chance to attend various talks across the two days, as well as learning from and networking with peers from around the industry.
“For the live casino session that I’m participating in, I look forward to delving further into a range of topics that affect this specific sector. In particular we will be discussing how operators in the live casino space can best continue to champion responsible gaming.
“I’m proud to say that responsible gaming is at the heart of all our decision making processes across the entire Genting business, and this is no different for live casino. I therefore look forward to sharing our knowledge and insight in this area with attendees.”
CasinoBeats Malta (March 24-26, 2020) will bring together 1,500 senior-level attendees from operators, suppliers and regulators, as well as 100 leading industry speakers to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the online casino sector.https://casinobeats.com/2019/12/17/genting-live-casino-showing-no-signs-of-slowing-down/
